Châteua Sigalas-Rabaud.

 


Madame Peyronne de Rabaud, owner of the Chateau Sigalas-Rabaud, was 1660 married with to Cazeau. The family Cazeau did not get any success with the estate during 150 year, and the castle was sold to Gabriel Deyme 1819.

 

Gabriel Deyme succeeded to improve the quality of the vine, and 1855 it get classified in premier cru.

1903 was the estate divide by the owner Pierre Drouihet de Sigalas and one part was sold to Adrien Promis, and the Chateau Rabaud-Promis was born.

 

Chateau Sigalas-Rabaud has a vineyard of 14 ha, which means that the castle is the smallest estate in premier cru.

The vine produces of a mixture of 98% Semillon and 2% Sauvignon. The vine is fermented in oak during temperature control, and then ageing in barrels (30% new every year) 

 

The first vine is labeled with the name Chateau Sigalas-Rabauds, and the estate also sell  

a second vine named Le Cadet de Sigalas.
